Yes! Our 5K course is an out-and-back, and we will have a water station at approximately the 1.25-mile and 1.85-mile marks.
Plenty of water and snacks will also be available at the finish line for all participants.
We will not have a gear check on race day. However, with plenty of parking next to the building, we recommend keeping any personal items or gear securely in your vehicle for safekeeping.
Plenty of parking is available at the church building in both the main lot and the side lot next to it. If needed, additional parking is also available in the park and ride lot across the street from the church on Main Street North.
For a broader view of the location of the building, parking, the start/finish location and the rest of the race route, please see our course map. Note that the location of parking will be more apparent if you switch the view type from "Map View" to "Hybrid" or "OpenStreet" view.
The race and walk will take place rain or shine!
In the case of severe weather or unsafe conditions, such as a thunderstorm, the race/walk may be delayed until it is safe to proceed.
Participants and spectators will have access to the church building before, during, and after the event in the event of inclement weather.
Runners and walkers will start together at 9:00 AM. Our Course Marshal team will monitor participants along the route.
While there is no strict time limit, most participants finish before 10:30 AM.
The 5K race will be professionally timed for runners only. A gate will be set up at the start/finish line so your official start time begins when you cross the gate, not at the starting gun. This helps ensure the safety of all runners.
For safety and accuracy, please line up according to your anticipated pace. Race results will be posted in real time during the event on the Results page at haiti5k.run.
Walkers will wear different bibs from runners and will not be timed.
Race results will be available in real time on the Results page of the haiti5k.run website during and after the race, and will also be posted on walls near the start/finish line and/or inside the church.
Photos from the event will be posted on the race website within a day or two after the event.
Headphones are permitted, but participants are asked to keep the volume low so they can hear instructions from volunteers and emergency vehicles.
The course is on city streets and roads that will be open to traffic during the race. For the safety of your dog, and in fairness to all participants, dogs are unfortunately not allowed to participate in the race.
For safety reasons on our shared, open-road course, running with strollers is generally discouraged.
If you choose to run with a stroller, please start at the back of the runners group to help ensure the safety of all participants and reduce tripping hazards.
Walking with a stroller is safer, as walkers will primarily use the sidewalks instead of running on the side of the road.
